Snowflake Power
Snowflake Power LLC is a 24 Megawatt/hour biomass power plant located in Snowflake, Arizona, approximately 180 miles northeast of Phoenix. The plant began commercial operations in June, 2008, following a 22 month construction period. It utilizes a Babcock & Wilcox fluidized bed boiler and a General Electric steam turbine-generator. The plant is designed to consume paper sludge procured from an adjoining paper mill and woody biomass obtained from millions of acres of surrounding forestland.
