History

Najafi Companies, formerly known as Pivotal Private Equity, operated as a unit of Pivotal Group, a Phoenix-based real estate investment and development company. Pivotal Group was founded in 1983 and has been involved in more than $3 billion in real estate investments. Investments include Ritz Carlton Hotel, St. Regis Hotel, Century Plaza Hotel, Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club, Red Mountain Spa and West Wing Mountain.

In 2006, the partners transitioned to operate the private equity investment unit independently from Pivotal Group to better position the firm for growth. In connection with the transition, the firm was renamed Najafi Companies. As an independent entity, Najafi Companies continues to focus on long-term investments.
